AERA

Initially conceived as a seating element made from recycled plastic materials, this version of CYCLA is instead presented in Adamantx.

Adamantx

Adamantx is an advanced composite material developed specifically for high-end design applications, where formal freedom, durability, and surface quality are essential.

At its core, Adamantx is based on a structural system that combines lightweight expanded materials (such as polymeric or mineral foams) with high-performance resin coatings.

One of its most distinctive features is its total form freedom: thanks to the way it is processed, Adamantx can be shaped into complex, continuous geometries without visible joints or assembly constraints. This makes it ideal for creating monolithic volumes, soft transitions, and sculptural forms—like the CYCLA chair—without the limitations typical of traditional manufacturing methods.

From a performance perspective, Adamantx offers:

  • High structural rigidity despite its lightweight core

  • Impact and wear resistance, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use

  • Excellent surface finishing, ranging from glossy to matte, with a refined tactile quality

  • Resistance to humidity and environmental conditions, making it appropriate for marine, hospitality, and outdoor contexts

The production process involves precise shaping of the expanded core (via CNC milling or molds), followed by the application of specially formulated resins that create a hard, durable outer shell. This outer layer can be further treated, sanded, and finished to achieve a premium aesthetic comparable to lacquered surfaces or gelcoat finishes.

Adamantx is the result of years of research, experimentation, and laboratory testing, aimed at overcoming the traditional trade-off between freedom of design and industrial feasibility. It enables designers to move beyond standard typologies and create truly custom, high-performance objects with a strong visual identity.

Some Examples :

Design

The design of the chair, defined by its continuous surfaces and soft transitions between volumes, finds in Adamantx an ideal material counterpart

Outdoor

This transition to Adamantx was driven by the intention to enhance the chair’s suitability for outdoor use, improving its resistance to environmental conditions while preserving its sculptural and monolithic identity.

Lightness, rigidity, and durability.

Adamantx offers a unique combination of lightness, rigidity, and durability. The material is highly resistant to humidity, UV exposure, and wear, making it perfectly adapted to long-term outdoor applications. At the same time, its surface can be treated to achieve different finishes, from matte to high-gloss, maintaining a premium tactile and visual quality.
